Within the glass architecture of super bien! Berlin, Jakob Kolb stages remembering as a hermetic engine room. An installation of steel and glass containers, intertwined with organic matter, renders the mechanics of memory and storage visible. Connected via a custom-developed LED system, the sculptures function as a reactive memory-system, visually and acoustically absorbing their environment. During a Source-Performance (opening), Jakob feeds live songs, voice, and text fragments into the system. With bass clarinetist Charlotte Strauch, he unfolds a free improvisation that acoustically sets the space in motion. Afterward, the recorded audio circulates, transforming within the engine room.
